Store Closure Coming

Home / Blog / News / Store Closure Coming

We have decided that the time has come to close the store.  We anticipate that this will take a few weeks as we must sell our lovely and sunny unit that is full of so many happy memories.  This means that it is currently business as usual at Kaleidoscope.  The shelves are full of great reads and we are happy to make recommendations.  The only change right now is that we are no longer selling gift certificates and we encourage you to come in to spend your gift certificates as soon as possible.

We would consider selling the business if you, or anyone you know, are interested in purchasing it.

We will keep you posted as things change and our timeline becomes more concrete.

We can’t thank you, our wonderful customers, enough for your patronage, encouragement and support.  You have made it very easy to come to work and very difficult to make this decision.

Every happiness,

Kim, Karin & Kelly

Kelly, Just found out today about your closing.. the news left me terribly saddened…have already sent the news to my sons. You have been my guiding light for the past ten years.. learned so much about children’s literature from you.. and am not looking forward to being on my own to find the most beautiful and appropriate books for my granddaughter and new grandson.

Thank you so much for your dedication in promoting children’s literature .. you have touched my family in more ways than you know. And of course my sister Joce’s library has so benefited from your expertise and service.

A la prochaine!!! Ma chere Kelly, c’est a ton tour de te laisser parler d’amour!

Thank you all so much for being such a big part of my child’s life. Because of the great recommendations, I now have a child that has learned to love the magic of books and we couldn’t have done it without you and your wonderful staff we will miss you and wish you all the best.

I was very sad to hear of your store closing, since my daughter, Michela, has very happy memories of Kaleisdoscope. You knew her by her first name and she would often walk to your Bank Street location close to Sunnyside. The two of us have wonderful memories of your Harry Potter event at Fifth Avenue Court.

    Thank you very much.
